Tracy Figurella

Tracy Figurella, M.P.H.

Tracy Figurella, M.P.H., is leaving the College of Public Health for Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland & East Central Ohio, Inc., where she will serve as the manager of the Community Information Exchange Network in Stark County. 

Figurella has been with Æðµã´«Ã½ since 2019 working as the senior external relations officer for the College of Public Health. She was instrumental in the funding and planning of key CPH initiatives, including the senior focused health programming with Medical Mutual as well as the implementation of Mobile Flashes interprofessional education efforts.

 
Miller
Jen Miller, Ph.D.

Jennifer L. N. Miller, Ph.D.

After 20 years at Æðµã´«Ã½ and nine years with the College of Public Health, Jennifer (Jen) L.N. Miller, Ph.D., M.Ed., M.B.A., former CPH assistant dean for student and accreditation services, has accepted an exciting new role.

Miller now serves as Program Manager III – Assessment and Program Effectiveness Planning at the Cleveland Clinic. Miller is still involved in college activities as an adjunct faculty member for the Community Health Worker Training Program.

Maggie Stedman-Smith, Ph.D.​

Maggie Stedman-Smith, Ph.D.​, associate professor of environmental health sciences​, has retired. Stedman-Smith joined the faculty of Æðµã´«Ã½ as part of the new College of Public Health in August 2009. Since joining CPH, she has established a research trajectory in occupational health promotion for reducing communicable infectious disease among employees in the work environment. 

She has been the recipient of funding from the Kent-Summa Initiative for Clinical and Translational Research/GoJo Industries, Akron, Ohio, and funding from the Æðµã´«Ã½ College of Public Health Dean’s Office with material support from GoJo Industries.

 

 
Peggy C. Stephens (Tonkin)
Peggy Stephens, Ph.D.​

Peggy Stephens, Ph.D.​

Peggy Stephens, Ph.D., has retired from her role as professor of social and behavioral sciences. Stephens joined the College of Public Health in 2012 as a non-tenure track instructor, after thirteen years as a researcher and faculty member at the University of Akron.  Her area of expertise is substance abuse prevention and treatment. 

Her research agenda has focused on quantitative methodological approaches and the application of social theories to examine the health and social problems associated with substance abuse and risky behaviors.  She has been involved in several large, multi-site evaluations of drug abuse prevention and treatment programs.
