Up to 30 tenure and tenure-track roles at Canada’s East Coast research leader

Backed by the Government of Canada’s $1.7 billion Global Impact+ Research Talent Initiative, Æðµã´«Ã½ University is undertaking the most ambitious recruitment of research leaders in its history. We are seeking world-class scholars ready to build transformational research programs and partnerships that improve lives in Nova Scotia, Canada, and around the world.Ìý

The Impact+ Research Chair opportunity

Canada Impact+ Research Chairs are designed for internationally renowned researchers outside of Canada who are ready to establish a major research program in Canada. Æðµã´«Ã½ can nominate up to 14 Chairs across the Government of Canada’s strategic priority areas.

Globally pre-eminent researchers may be identified as Distinguished Chairs and receive up to $1.5 annually, in exceptional cases. Institutions may also request up to $6 million per Chair in infrastructure funding through the Canada Foundation for Innovation.

The Impact+ Emerging Leaders opportunity

This initiative is focused on recruiting outstanding early career scholars working outside of Canada who are ready to accelerate their research, build partnerships, and translate discoveries in Canada’s strategic priority areas.

It provides $100,000 per year for six years to launch a globally-oriented research program, with the potential for a further six-year extension based on demonstrated impact and career progression.

The Canada Research Chair opportunity

Canada Research Chairs are intended for outstanding researchers in Canada and internationally who are ready to advance ambitious research programs aligned with Æðµã´«Ã½â€™s Strategic Research ClustersÌýand Canada's research priorities.

Tier 1 Chairs provide $200,000 per year for seven years, renewable once, for established scholars. Tier 2 Chairs provide $120,000 per year for five years, renewable once, for researchers with strong leadership potential.

These focus areas closely align with Æðµã´«Ã½â€™s Strategic Research Clusters, offering candidates a powerful platform to advance ambitious, high-impact programs.
